Use this to convert text in ISFOC font format to:
- Plain ISCII
- ISCII with format attributes for fonts e.g. Bold, Underline, Italic
- UNICODE
Click on the ISM menu as shown below to access this utility.
Save As ISCII
Click on Formatted ISCII to convert data to ISCII while retaining attributes for language and the formatting for Bold, Italic, Underline.
Click on Non Formatted ISCII to convert data to plain ISCII .The output file does not retain any formatting for language.
A Save As dialog as shown below will be displayed
Specify the file name and path where you want to save the converted data.
The conversion will automatically start after this information is specified.
Save As Unicode:
Converts the data to text in Unicode format and saves it as text file.
Before starting with the conversion, a message box will be displayed as shown below.
Click on Yes to save a copy of the original document before proceeding with conversion.
Click on No to start the conversion without making a copy.
Viewing the output
ISCII text can be viewed in an editor which can display ISCII. In case of plain ISCII conversion, if the text is in more than one language, users would have to apply the respective language fonts to this text so as to view it properly.
UNICODE data can be viewed in an editor that can display UNICODE data. For viewing the converted data in Windows XP or Windows 2000, install Indian language support on your machine.
NOTE ▬ Use DVOT (eg: for devanagari) or Arial Unicode MS open type fonts to view Unicode data
NOTE ▬ Currenlty this utility is not supported for 64bit MS-Office.
